An ambitious collaboration by three, leading UK cancer charities, we3can exists to fund research into prevention, treatments and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. With our combined expertise, determination, vision and commitment, we can give kids with cancer a real childhood and future.
As charities which are passionate about finding better, kinder treatments and cures for these cancer types, we’ve decided to come together to raise money to fund vital research – supporting the brilliant work being done by scientists and clinicians up and down the country and accelerating the chance of breakthroughs; opening more dedicated research centres and funding more bright, young minds to pursue research projects within them. Because we want children to be diagnosed quicker. We want them to be given kinder, less toxic treatments. And we want to find cures, so that the spectre of cancer no longer looms over so many young lives.
Together, we can advocate on behalf of every child and family affected. Together, we can save lives.
Together, we3can cure kids' cancer.
To find a cure for all types of brain tumours
To increase the UK investment in brain tumour research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!
We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours, through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
granted for research since Brain Tumour Research began
research grants awarded annually
new funding committed for Research Centre dedicated to paediatric brain tumour research
researchers currently supported by Brain Tumour Research
One in three children who die of cancer are killed by a brain tumour. What’s more, treatments for many brain tumours affecting children have not improved in decades and can cause life-long side effects. The funds raised through the we3can collaboration will enable us to invest more into our pioneering research in order to find new treatments and, ultimately, cures, bringing much-needed hope for families affected by these types of childhood cancer.”

To stop leukaemia devastating lives
To accelerate progress through the life-changing research that matters most to people affected by leukaemia
Because of its wide-ranging symptoms, leukaemia is one of the hardest cancers to spot and is often discovered too late. It has one of the lowest survival rates of blood cancers and is the most common type of childhood cancer, accounting for around a third of all cancers in under 15s.
In 2023, Leukaemia UK put £1.9m into 25 active research awards, advocacy and awareness initiatives, to build our understanding of blood cancer and take us a step closer towards stopping leukaemia from devastating lives.
science publications in 2022 by Leukaemia UK-funded researchers after new discoveries
million funding in 2022 for research, advocacy and awareness initiatives
active research awards in 2022, 4 of which from exceptional early career scientists through flagship John Goldman Fellowships
of funding in 2022 into Cost of Living with Leukaemia to help families in financial hardship
Leukaemia makes up around a third of all cancers in children and, despite progress, remains a difficult disease to treat. We desperately need to accelerate progress to find kinder, more effective treatments. Through the money raised by we3can, Leukaemia UK will be able to fund more vital research to stop leukaemia devastating lives, and to make sure the next child with leukaemia has the best possible experience of diagnosis, treatment and care.”

A world where everyone with sarcoma cancer gets the treatment, support and care they need
To provide support at every step of a person’s sarcoma journey, and to invest our income in pioneering research, awareness, and campaigning
Nearly every day in the UK a child will be diagnosed with sarcoma cancer, but tragically, it has one of the worst survival rates of all childhood cancers, and awareness of its signs and symptoms remains worryingly low.
Sarcoma UK is the only charity in the country dedicated to providing support and funding vital research into this cancer. To date, we have invested over £6 million into pioneering research projects to better understand sarcoma and pave the way towards improved treatment options and outcomes.
invested since 2009 in pioneering sarcoma research
awarded in 2022 to eleven research projects
awarded to our groundbreaking Genomics Research Programme

Every day, a child or young person in the UK is diagnosed with sarcoma cancer, but sadly, new treatments have not been developed for decades. We are delighted to be working alongside Brain Tumour Research and Leukaemia UK to support children and teenagers who are affected by these cancers. By working together, we can invest urgently needed funds into lifesaving treatments and demonstrate our commitment to supporting more families throughout their treatment and beyond.”

With your support, our vision is to make a real change in the treatment of kids' cancer. Research enables us to understand kids’ cancer better, improve treatments, and ultimately make a difference to people’s lives. But we need your help and support to make this change happen.
We are inviting companies, individuals and organisations to support we3can in our early stages of development. You can help raise funds in so many ways – through donations, events, sponsorship, or giving your time and professional expertise through volunteering – and we will support you all the way.
In return, you or your company will have the opportunity to partner with we3can as we grow our funding and profile across the United Kingdom, and we will promote how you are helping to make a difference and find cures for childhood cancer.
